Houston and Emmy rode their first zip line recently at a friends house. They loved it and now want us to get one!

An Evening at Daddy's Work
On occasion Bryan needs to go into work after everyone else has left the office so that he can do things on peoples computers that he cannot do during the day when they are at work. This usually means he has the day off and goes into work around 6-7 pm and stays into the early morning hours, usually around 2am. The kids and I will often go with him when he does this. One of the kids favorite things is to visit daddy's work and when we go in after hours we have the whole place to ourselves, which I must admit, is really fun!
This past Friday night was one of those nights. We all went into his work around 8pm and then left around 2am. Would you believe that even Camden stayed up until well past midnight that night. He was pretty excited to be at daddy's work. Of course he was asleep the minute he hit his car seat to come home, but I was amazed he lasted as long as he did!
So what in the world do we do at Bryans work for 4-5 hours? Well.....his work has scooters that the employees ride around the office on and our kiddos LOVE riding them all around the office when we are their. Their is also a man that the kids affectionately refer too as the "Candy Man". He keeps a huge bowl of candy on his desk. It's the first place that all of the kids head too. In fact the first thing that Camden said when we walked through the doors on Friday was "Daddy, I want candy please"! LOL! Student Life also has a nice kitchen with snacks, drinks, and vending machines that our kiddos always love to raid. Their is a game room with couches, a tv, and an arcade. Their is the conference room where Bryan will sometimes put on a movie for the kids to watch. Their is the costume department which the kids have a ball in...you might remember that from our pictures this past Halloween. They love playing dress up with all of the costumes. Their is an outdoor playground for the daycare center that is at Student Life and our kiddos sometimes enjoy playing on it and their is the daycare room itself which Camden and Ally enjoy playing in on occasions. Of course their are plenty of computers that the kids can play on too and the older kids enjoy writing messages on the boards in the meeting rooms and someone always writes back to them and leaves the messages up for them to see on their next trip into Bryans work. Isn't that sweet! The first time that Emmy wrote something on one of the boards she wrote "The Unsells Rock" and the next time she went into Bryans work it was still up on the board and others had written things like "Yes they do", "Amen", "You said it", etc. She got a real kick out of it and it started a tradition. I would have to say that the main thing the kids enjoy though is simply being at Bryan's work. They love playing hide-n-seek around the many cubicles and just walking around the place and watching daddy do his thing and he enjoys having some company and noise as he transfers files and makes updates etc. on the computers. I was realizing Friday that we have always been blessed with a job for Bryan where it was possible to visit daddy's work. I am thankful for that and the memories the kids are making.

Recent Pics
I know that I have been horrible at blogging lately and I am going to try to work on being more faithful in sharing and posting pics. ;-) I enjoy blogging but finding and taking the time is sometimes an issue for me. Thank you to those of you that keep checking in despite my inconsistency!
I hope ya'll are enjoying your Spring. We have had some beautiful weather lately here in Alabama. A lot of rain but some beautiful sunny 70 degree days too! We have really been enjoying the Spring while it's here. The kids and I have spent a lot of time working and playing around the yard, bird watching, and it's even fun to watch the horses behind our home whom seem to be enjoying Spring as well.
We are preparing for a yard sale. I have been cleaning out a lot this past month and Bryan has hauled a huge load of stuff down to the thrift store to give away but we have decided that we have so much that we really should just try a yard sale and see if we can make any money off of any of it. We are trying hard to downsize our "stuff" as we do not plan on going back to the square footage that we had in our home in NC. We really want to keep the square footage we have now or maybe just a tad bit more in order to keep our housing costs as low as possible. Our garage for the past 2 hours has been stuffed full of our "things" that we didn't move into the house when we moved in 2 years ago. It's a huge mess that Bryan and I have both been avoiding but will be tackling this next week. The girls want to bake some cookies to try and sell at the yard sale and possibly set up a lemonade stand as well. They are pretty excited!
One of my favorite things about living in the "south" are the many festivals that take place across the state this time of year. We have a long list of the festivals and events that we are planning on visiting in the next couple of months while the weather is really nice! Their is always something fun to do and see around our area this time of year.
In family news- my grandmother Klase came down with pnemonia last month but I am happy to report that she did recover from it, though she was in the hospital for a while. She is unable however to live alone anymore and so the family has found an assisted living place that is really nice and that Grandma is happy with. I am thankful she likes living their. Bryans grandfather is also not doing well. He is in his last days and hospice has been called into their home. His blood keeps clotting causing heart attacks and strokes but they cannot place him on blood thinners to prevent it because when they do it causes his organs to bleed out. We would appreciate your prayers for both of our grandparents and extended family members during this time.
We have been focusing primarily on our basics in school since the end of February. We tend to do Basics only (for the most part) with lots of reading in the Spring and Fall when the weather is nice because it gives us more time to enjoy nature outdoors and then we dig deeper into the unit studies and other subjects in the summer and winter when we are stuck indoors more. It works well for our family and we appreciate greatly the flexibility to be able to do so.
Here are some recent favorite pictures that were taken that I thought were deemed worthy of sharing. The picture of Houston reading to Camden melts my heart. Houston loved Caillou as a young boy too and that was actually his old book that he is reading to Camden. The picture of Camden sleeping shows him cuddled up with his favorite book right now. He tends to go through periods where he likes one book best over our others and then after a few weeks that changes. ;-) Ally jumping in the puddles was during a recent rain storm. The kids love running around the house when it was pouring down rain. Emmy has been baking a lot of cookies lately. She has really gotten great at following recipes all on her own! It's fun to have a daughter that loves to cook and bake and does so on her own initiative! And the last four of Camden were a fun day out at the park and a friends house enjoying the beautiful Spring weather.
