Emmy turned 19 this year! For her birthday celebration we did a girls only road trip up to northern, Alabama last week. It was such a fun day with our closest friends. Here are a few pictures.
Our first stop was DeSoto Falls in Mentone, AL. What a beautiful area to explore it was! These are the upper falls.

At lunchtime we headed over the Wildflower Cafe in Mentone. It was only a quick 6 minute drive from the falls. This cafe has been featured in Southern Living magazine and was such a fun place!
Girls in front of cafe. Yummy food and very artsy atmosphere inside. Many local artists display and sell their work from inside the cafe.
We all enjoyed the food! I ordered the brunch sampler which included some ham & cheese quiche, fresh fruit, tomato pie, and cheese filled crepe topped with strawberry sauce. The cafe is famous for their tomato pie and it was indeed amazing!

After exploring Mentone we drove over to Scottsboro, AL to visit the world famous Unclaimed Baggage Center. It's been featured many times on Good Morning America and places like Oprah. It is the location that all unclaimed luggage is sent from within the United States. It's a fun place to explore- especially the International section.
Sunset leaving Scottsboro.
Last stop was the mall in Birmingham. All of the April birthday girls got their ears pierced.
Mackenzie was really nervous but she went through with it and is glad she did!
