Woke up to a foggy morn on our last day.
Playing shuffleboard that morning.
The view from the shuffle board.
Sand volleyball
Feeding the turtles and fish at the turtle pond.
Around lunchtime we left the resort and headed into Branson to a place called Mel's Hard Luck Diner at The Grand Village. When Bryan surprised me with the trip to Branson for just the two of us a few years back, we ate lunch one day at Mel's and loved it. The kids and MeMe & Larry had not yet been. It is a 50's style diner where the waiters and waitresses serenade you while you eat.
One of the waitresses singing.
Look at what we ordered for lunch!
It is called the avalanche and it's 12 scoops of 6 types of ice cream over a layer of brownies and cookies and topped with caramel sauce, pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce, hot fudge, marshmallow cream, whipped cream, bananas, sprinkles, and who knows what else! This picture is a bit deceitful....it was much larger than it looks here. The funny thing about it is that the menu said it feeds 4 people! 12 scoops of ice cream for 4 people!!! Their were 10 of us and we almost finished it off, but not quite.
Our waitress singing.
Each of the tables have bio's on the waiters or waitress for that table as well as cd's of their music for sale.
A few pictures around The Grand Village
Giant rocking chair.
A singing reindeer which Ally & Cam loved.
When we left The Grand Village we headed over to the Imax center to a store that carried lots of Duck Dynasty items.
Houston with Phil and Uncle Si! Yup....were fans!
Just a fun moment between Houston and Camden that I managed to catch on camera.
On the main strip in Branson driving back to MeMe & Larry's.
So thankful for our time at the resort and for MeMe & Larry's generosity in sharing their time share points with us!
