Last Day at the Resort & Branson {Missouri Vacation Part 6}

Woke up to a foggy morn on our last day.

Playing shuffleboard that morning.

The view from the shuffle board.

Sand volleyball

Feeding the turtles and fish at the turtle pond.

Around lunchtime we left the resort and headed into Branson to a place called Mel's Hard Luck Diner at The Grand Village. When Bryan surprised me with the trip to Branson for just the two of us a few years back, we ate lunch one day at Mel's and loved it. The kids and MeMe & Larry had not yet been. It is a 50's style diner where the waiters and waitresses serenade you while you eat.

One of the waitresses singing.

Look at what we ordered for lunch!

It is called the avalanche and it's 12 scoops of 6 types of ice cream over a layer of brownies and cookies and topped with caramel sauce, pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce, hot fudge, marshmallow cream, whipped cream, bananas, sprinkles, and who knows what else! This picture is a bit deceitful....it was much larger than it looks here. The funny thing about it is that the menu said it feeds 4 people! 12 scoops of ice cream for 4 people!!! Their were 10 of us and we almost finished it off,  but not quite.

Our waitress singing.

Each of the tables have bio's on the waiters or waitress for that table as well as cd's of their music for sale.

A few pictures around The Grand Village

Giant rocking chair.

A singing reindeer which Ally & Cam loved.

When we left The Grand Village we headed over to the Imax center to a store that carried lots of Duck Dynasty items.

Houston with Phil and Uncle Si! Yup....were fans!

Just a fun moment between Houston and Camden that I managed to catch on camera.

On the main strip in Branson driving back to MeMe & Larry's.

So thankful for our time at the resort and for MeMe & Larry's generosity in sharing their time share points with us!

Miniature Golf & Lots Of Swimming {Missouri Vacation Part 5}

On our 2nd full day at the resort we went miniature golfing that morning and swimming that afternoon and evening. MeMe won the miniature golf!

A resting place along the miniature golf course.

This was the 9th hole.

You actually went inside of the fish to finish your rounds.

MeMe & Larry

Here are a few pictures from around the resort.

This was a slide down into one of the outdoor pools. This pool was closed for the season.

The pool that the slide lead down into. When we touched the water we realized why it was closed for the season. It wasn't a heated pool and the water was freezing!!

During the summer months this is called the Lazy River and you can go tubing down it.

That afternoon, after lunch, we headed down to the outdoor pool that was close to our condo. It was a heated pool.

Even though this outdoor pool was heated, it was still a bit chilly until you got used to it.

Larry got brave enough to take a dip too.

Resting back at the condo late afternoon.

Camden wanted me to take a picture of the sun highlighting the dust in the air. He thought this was really cool as their were several rainbows in the stream.

Sun setting over Table Rock lake our 2nd night.

Can you guess where my water bugs were dying to go after dinner? You got it! Right back to the indoor pool for more swimming. *grin*
