In addition to Ebenezer Swamp, we visited Moss Rock Preserve during our spring break week.
I remember years ago, it was 1994 to be exact, and the first time I visited the city of Birmingham. We had just moved south of Tuscaloosa (from California) at the time and I was taken with how beautiful the city of Birmingham was. So hilly and so many rock formations in places. It was during that visit that the longing began in my heart to live in the Birmingham area. As the years went by and we visited the city more often, along with the outlying areas, I always felt drawn to the area south of Birmingham. Little did we know then that God had plans to bring us here in our future. *grin*
I guess that's a little off topic but it ties in too. Moss Rock Preserve is one of the many reasons I love living near Birmingham. The area makes us feel like we are at a high elevation up in the mountains when in reality we are in a city full of millions of people. The preserve is only 8 minutes from Bryan's work.
The preserve is 350 acres with multiple waterfalls and areas. We had a really fun day hiking and climbing around the preserve. We started out at the great boulders and hiked down to the creek and then up to an area called the great wall. We didn't make it to the waterfall this time. Here are a few pictures.
