While in Missouri we celebrated Natalie's 9th and Camdens 5th birthdays at Chuck E Cheese in Springfield. It was a newer and very big Chuck E Cheese with games that the kids had never seen before. They had a ball!

Natalies 9th Birthday Celebration!
Natalies birthday request was to go ice skating while we were in Missouri. Springfield has a really nice ice rink and so Saturday afternoon we headed over for a couple hours of skating.

My Simple Diary~ Week 17 of 2011
Outside my window...
We had a beautiful Easter weekend weather wise. How about you? This week is supposed to be in the low 80's and by Thursday it is dropping to 70 degrees. I am looking forward to that as 80's are a bit warm for me. I don't handle heat very well. Spring has definitely sprung around here as we are back to having to mow our lawn once a week here.
This week I am thankful for...
My Risen Savior! So thankful that the grave did not have a hold on him. I'm thankful for a beautiful and very worshipful Easter service at our church last night. Pastor David taught from Romans 6. I am also thankful for this song which is a favorite of mine for Easter Day!
Prayer Requests for the week...
Pray for us as we jump back into school full time this week after our time off in recent weeks for Spring. We school year round and school pretty heavily through the summer months when it is really hot so that we can take time off in the Spring and Fall when the weather is nice. We have had about 3 weeks off total in recent weeks so this week we dive back into the swing of things. It honestly always seems harder for me to get back into the swing of things than the kids. We are all looking forward to jumping back in though.
What we have been watching...
Saturday evening we watched a movie together as a family that was a perfect movie for Easter. It is a movie that I won off of a blog contest on my friend Heidis Blog and it is called Magdalena. It is the story of Jesus life, death, and resurrection through the eyes of Mary Magdalena. The movie was produced by Campus Crusade for Christ. Here is a trailer for it.

My dad! Today is his 63rd birthday! In honor of that I just have to share a few older pictures of him.

This is probably one of my all time favorite pictures of my dad because this is how I remember him during our years of living in Tehachapi. He always looked like a mountain man to me when he had his beard. I love him with a beard. He loved living in the mountains in Tehachapi. He was a true mountain man. *Grin* This picture was taken in our backyard at our home there.

Dad has always loved airplanes and motorcycles. When I was growing up dad had his pilot license and owned a small Cesna airplane. He loved flying that plane! If there was an airshow within a days drive of our home, dad had us there. I have many many memories of airshows and trips to airports as a young girl. Dad used to drive us out to smaller airports to sit and watch the planes take off and land. Anytime we were traveling anywhere, if we passed an small airport you could count on stopping for a bit to watch the planes. When we lived in Tehachapi there was a small glider airport not far from our home at the base of mountains. We took many visits to that airport to watch the gliders fly around. Dad loved that place. In more recent years he purchased a Harley motorcycle and loves riding it around California. He has done a couple of out of state trips on his bike.
Dad is the youngest of three children. He has two older sisters. He was born in Oklahoma but moved to California as a young boy and grew up in Arvin, California. His interest in airplanes began as a very young boy when he helped to actually build one. He has spent most of his adult life working in the oil fields around Bakersfield, California. He and my mom met in highschool. They are 4 years apart in age and were married the year my mom graduated from highschool, 1969. One of my dads older sisters and my mom were very close friends in highschool. Dad served in the Vietnam war for several years prior to my parents getting married. He has a huge, sensitive heart, and would give a stranger the shirt off of his back if he thought the person needed it. Very thankful for my dad, Kenneth Milton Klase. Happy Birthday Dad! We love you.
My Life With Fibro...
I've been fighting the normal exhaustion this past week that goes along with my Fibro. That is pretty typical after a trip out of town for me though so nothing surprising. My toes are still really bothering me too but I am thanking God today for low pain levels overall.

I would say that yesterday, Easter Sunday, was definitely my favorite thing about this past week. See below for another favorite moment from this past week.

Emmys 13th Birthday Celebration
One of the reasons we went to Missouri last week was to celebrate Emmys birthday. She wanted to celebrate in Missouri. Her request was to go shopping for a day with her MeMe and Annie and I and then that night we went to dinner at Lamberts Cafe in Ozark, MO.
Her big surprise for her birthday was getting her ears pierced. She had been asking for a while to have her ears pierced and Bryan and I decided that she was old enough and responsible enough to do so now. Her great- grandma Lasater has had a pair of real diamond earrings that she has been saving for Emmy until she got her ears pierced. She was very excited to finally be getting them done and she has done a great job of taking care of her ears since they were pierced. She has to leave in the studs they put in for 6 weeks and after that she can wear other earrings. She had her ears pierced in the mall and I left my camera in the car but Bryans mom did get some pictures of it happening on her cell phone. Bryan just needs to figure out how to get the pictures off of her phone now. *Wink*
Emmy had fun shopping- she picked out some new clothes, shoes, jewelry, nail polish, and a new purse. That evening we enjoyed eating dinner at Lamberts and Bryans grandma and uncle joined us all. If your not familiar with Lamberts there are three of the restaurants in the U.S. and the one in the Ozarks is the original. Lamberts if home of the throwed rolls. They walk around with a tray of warm, just out of the oven yummy yeast rolls, and if you raise your hand at them then they throw your roll at you. They do so every 10 minutes. It's up to you to catch your roll or it ends up on the floor. The kids love the place. They also walk around with buckets of side dishes and offer you as much as you want to eat. Their fried okra is delicious! Their main dishes that you order are HUGE! It's truly impossible to leave Lamberts hungry. In fact you leave quite stuffed! I could make a meal off of just their rolls.
